Accessing and testing from the test socket.
- First, you will need to identify where your master phone socket is and then what type it is. It’s usually where your phone line comes in from outside. Below are diagrams of the most common master socket types, but if you have a non NTE as demonstrated below or can’t find your master socket please let us know.
- To access the test socket, you’ll need to remove the faceplate by removing the screws or by squeezing the clips either side of the faceplate. Then you will need to plug in a spare ADSL microfilter (example below) into the phone socket the faceplate was plugged in to. If you don’t have a spare one they can be obtained cheaply.
