Using your new V67 Handset
Home Screen Layout
As you can see from the above screenshot, your desk phone will look very similar. In the top left hand corner you will see the name of the phone’s user, whether it is a written name or just an extension number.
On the right-hand side, you will see the speed-dial extensions for the users on your system. This will be used mostly for quickly dialing through to someone saved within this list, or transferring calls through to a particular user. The Green Phone will indicate that the user is available and not on a call. Should the phone display as Red then this means that the user is either on another call, or is set to DND (Do-Not-Disturb). If the phone is Blinking Red then it means that someone is trying to contact that user and their phone is ringing. It should be setup so that if a user’s extension on the list is receiving a call, and you know that the user is unavailable or not at their desk for example – that you can either press the Pick Up Call button or alternatively just press on the extension and it will intercept that call and bring it over to your phone so that you can answer the call yourself.
Along the bottom of the screen, you will see 5 icons:
- The Green Phone takes you to the dial page
- DND is to enable/disable Do-Not-Disturb. Blue means it is disabled, Red means it is enabled, see picture below.
- The Orange Button in the middle is to access the phone's menu.
- The Purple Button is for accessing voicemail, however in most instances voicemails would be accessed from the list on the right-hand side. This is primarily because it will light up red in the instance that a voicemail message has been left.
- The Blue Cog Wheel takes you into the phone's settings.
When entering the Dial Page (Green Phone Button) - you will see the screen below.
From here you can dial out to an external number or to an internal extension number should it not be listed, you will still also be able to see the speed-dial list on the right-hand side.
Just left of the dial pad, you will see a brief call history for the extension. To dial someone back, you can simply tap the entry on the call history and it will automatically start dialing out.
Finally to the left of the call history, you will see 3 icons:
- The First (Highlighted) is for the page you are already on.
- The Second is for accessing contacts, both for local and network shared contacts.
- Finally, the Third will take you to a more detailed page for your call history.
Accessing the contacts page will present you with the following:
Initially it will take you into “Local Contacts” where you can store your own contacts without them being shared to the phone. Any contacts that have been added on the admin portal which are shared across ALL phones will be displayed under “Network Phonebook” and then “Company Dir”
Accessing the call history page will present you with the following:
As you can see there are more filters available so that you can narrow down your call history to whether it’s an incoming call, outgoing, forwarded call from your extension or if it’s a missed call.
Example screenshot of when the phone has DND enabled.
Should you find that your phone does have DND enabled and is lit up red like above, simply press the button again once and this will disable it, this will then allow calls to come back through again as normal.
Accessing the menu will present you with the following page:
By default, you will have similar apps that you would see installed on a new mobile device or tablet. The phone does come with a browser installed that will take you directly onto the Google Page. The phones themselves run on Android and therefore you can download apps directly from the browser should you require anything additional to what is already installed.
Access the settings menu and then use the left-hand submenu to scroll down to find “Sound” like shown in the image below. From here you can then select Tone and go through the wide selection of ringtones available. Once you have found a ringtone you like, there will be a tick on the top-right hand corner that you will need to press to confirm the selection which will then apply it for all future calls.
You can also scroll all the way down to the bottom of the menu to find the “Reboot” function to restart your phone.
When on a call you will be presented with the following page, from here you then have the option to:
- Hold The Call
- Transfer The Call
- Start A Conference Call
- End The Call
To transfer a call, press the Transfer Button once and then you can expand the right-hand side menu to show all user’s extensions like so:
Select the extension you wish to transfer the call through to; this will put the initial caller on hold and start a new call through to the user so that you can announce that there is a caller wanting to speak to them. If they wish to receive the call – you simply press “Transfer” once more and that will disconnect from your phone and send the call through to the user. You will see this has successfully transferred because the user should then have a RED phone next to their name.
In the instance that the user does not wish to take the call, you can end the call by pressing the END CALL button which will then take you back to the initial caller that is still on hold, you can click “Resume” and this will take them off of hold so you can continue the conversation with them or take a message.
Starting a Conference Call:
The CONFERENCE button works in the exact same fashion as the TRANSFER, so if you wish to add someone to a call then follow the exact same steps as above, however just replace the TRANSFER button with the CONFERENCE button instead.
